Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and while it's a day traditionally associated with couples and romantic love, it's also a great opportunity to celebrate yourself and immerse yourself in a night of self-care. Whether you are in a relationship or flying solo this year, here are some fun ideas to take yourself out on a date to show yourself some love.
1) Treat yourself to some flowers.
Have you listened to the new Miley Cyrus song? Buying yourself flowers is IN! Nothing is better than having fresh flowers to add some colour to your space, they are an instant pick me up when you catch a glimpse or a whiff of them. Head to your local florist and arrange them in a vase to give any room an extra oomph. If you're feeling extra indulgent, you could even splurge and go all out on a fancy pre-made bouquet of your favourite flowers.
2) Plan a movie night.
Put on your fave face mask, curl up on the couch with your fave blanket, and pick out a feel-good flick to watch. Whether you’re a sucker for rom-coms or a horror movie fanatic, put on a movie that will make you feel good. This night is all about YOU. If you don’t know what movie to watch, binge a show on Netflix and tell us all about it! Don't forget to grab some snacks and drinks to complete the whole experience.
3) Indulge in some treats.
Squish Candy is a fan fave here at Twentyseven and if you haven’t tried it already, you’re missing out on a lot of sweet goodness. With vegan options and artisan made, their candies are truly the best! If you’re not feeling candy, satisfy your sweet tooth with desserts to show yourself some love. Whether it's a slice of cake from a local bakery, a tray of homemade cookies, or a scoop of your favourite ice cream.
4) Take yourself out to a fancy dinner.
Dressing up and going out for a fancy meal can be a great way to celebrate yourself and all of your accomplishments. Plan ahead and make reservations at a restaurant you've been wanting to try, or choose a spot with a special ambiance or atmosphere that you love. Don't be afraid to order that bottle of wine or get that decadent dessert – it's all about treating yourself!
5) Do something fun and active.
Taking care of your physical and mental health is an important part of self-care. Consider going for a hike in a beautiful natural setting, trying out a new yoga or fitness class, hitting the gym for a workout, or just going out for a short walk. Not only will you be taking care of your body, but you'll also be tending to yourself mentally and emotionally.
6) Visit a museum or art gallery.
Cultural experiences can be a great way to stimulate your mind and inspire creativity. Take yourself on a self-guided tour of a local museum or art gallery, and spend some time soaking up all the beauty and history on display.
7) Treat yourself to a spa day.
Whether it's a full day at the spa or just a relaxing bubble bath at home, take some time to pamper yourself! Book that massage, get a facial, get
your nails done (we love press ons so you can have multiple options with minimal damage to your nails!), or simply take some time to relax and unwind with some of our best-selling skincare products.
8) Go on a shopping spree.
Those shoes you’ve been eyeing?!? Treat yo self! Make yourself feel fab, and retail therapy can be a great way to celebrate yourself. Head to your favourite stores or go through our online shop to snag those items on your wishlist, don't be afraid to splurge a little - or a lot.
9) Make yourself a meal.
If you’ve been wanting to try new recipes or get back into cooking recipes you already enjoy, this is your sign to make it. Don't forget to set the table and make it a proper sit-down meal – it'll feel extra special.
10) Cleanse your space with some sage or incense.
Do a little spring cleaning early this year to give yourself a neat clean space to relax and unwind in. Getting rid of clutter in your home can reduce stress and anxiety, boost productivity and can even make you sleep better! Twentyseven Tip: Burn some sage with our Smudging Trio to cleanse the energy of your space.
No matter how you choose to celebrate, the most important thing is to remember that you are worthy of love and care. So go ahead and take yourself on a date, treat yourself – you deserve it!
