Although they give instant shine/body, we must remove sulfates and silicones from the hair follicle and scalp as they disrupt your scalp biome and leave long-term damage一this can cause short-term dullness but is absolutely worth it in the long-run.

We have set out the phases below you can expect on your way to a balanced scalp, and hair health.


Month 1
Reset Phase

+ Detox and Cleanse will help remove dead skin cells and build up of product around the hair follicle

+ You will experience your hair’s natural texture, so it may feel dry due to the removal of silicones that cover-up damage and prevent moisture from penetrating the hair shaft

+ Hair may feel flat during this stage, which means it's possible that you are using too much Scalp Detox or not double cleansing sufficiently

Month 2-3
Restore Phase

+ Using the Cold Processed Conditioner, your hair will be properly hydrated without toxins and you will start to notice improved hair texture because of the deep absorption of nutrients

+ You may notice some frizz as the hair adjusts to absence of silicones

+There will be reduced scalp inflammation and irritation

Month 4
Renew Phase

+ The pH of the scalp will be restored, leading to a balanced microbiome

+ The original hair texture, moisture, and shine will return

IS THE HAIR CLEANSE SAFE FOR COLOR AND CHEMICALLY TREATED HAIR?
Yes. The Cleanse is made without harsh ingredients, including detergents and sulfates. It will not strip color from your hair or interfere with chemical treatments, such as keratin, brazilian blowouts, or straighteners.

WHY DO I NEED TO MIX THE HAIR CLEANSE WITH WATER BEFORE APPLYING?
The Hair Cleanse is a creamy, concentrated blend of nutrients. It needs to be activated by mixing water in your hands to create a silky lather before applying it to the scalp. The more you can work up a lather, the better it will cleanse.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE THE HAIR CLEANSE?
Whatever feels right for you. Cleansing every 1-2 days is ideal for most hair types; however, our Hair Cleanse was designed to suit any lifestyle and routine, so you can safely cleanse as often as you want or need.

IS ACT+ACRE SAFE TO USE?
Yes! All Act+Acre products are sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and non-GMO.

ARE ACT+ACRE PRODUCTS SAFE FOR CHEMICALLY TREATED HAIR?
Yes! Whether your hair is bleached, dyed, permed, keratin-treatment or chemically-straightened, you can still use Act+Acre products.

CAN YOU USE ACT+ACRE PRODUCTS IF YOU HAVE HAIR EXTENSIONS?
No, you should not use Act+Acre products since most of their products are rich in essential oils and oils weaken the glue in your extensions.

CAN ACT+ACRE PRODUCTS HELP WITH HAIR GROWTH?
Yes, especially the Scalp Detox and the Apple Stem Cell Serum as they contain naturally stimulating that promote hair growth.

CAN YOU USE ACT+ACRE WHILE PREGNANT?

MY HAIR IS GETTING OILY, AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG?
Not to worry— this is a quick fix! Because Act+Acre products are quite concentrated, you may need to add a bit of water to the cleanse before applying it to your hair.

Use 1-2 pumps of the cleanse into your hand and add water to it. Rub this together in your hands and emulsify (the more bubbles the better!) before applying.

Rinse + repeat this process. You will notice a stronger lather during your second cleanse and a more weightless finish once complete :)

MY HAIR IS GETTING DRY, AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG?
Not to worry— this is normal! Because Act+Acre products are silicone-free, you may need to add a silicone-free hydrating mask once a week like the Restorative Hair Mask.

There is an initial transition period that can take 5-8 washes. If you feel you need more hydration with your daily wash. We recommend mixing a small amount of Restorative Hair Mask with the Conditioner.

only shampoo I use

I struggled with a lot of breakage on my long hair. I switched out all of my products to Act + Acre and it took a few months, but I noticed a big difference in overall hair health. I have used this shampoo exclusively for almost a year and a half and won't go back to standard brands. The only downside is that I have to use a ton of product each shampoo. I find it takes one initial clean to just get the cleansing started and then another full cleanse to actually clean the hair. However, I only shampoo twice a week so it's ok.

This is the only shampoo I will use now.

It’s expensive but, my hair is so much stronger and falls out much less now than before I started using it over a year ago. I don’t have to wash my hair as much and I have fewer problems with oily hair. The Cleanser and Hair Mask and Dry Shampoo are my go to products.

Ok! No scalp irritation

You have to use a lot of this product! & and the full cleansing process is a hair journey - double cleanse leaving shampoo on scalp for a minute...and then leave conditioner on for 5 minutes. I was willing to do it if helped my perpetually dry scalp with the beautiful bottles a bonus...but this was just ok for me. My scalp didn't react which is a win but goes quickly for the cost...and the conditioner was a total miss for me so likely won't purchase again.

The Only Shampoo

As the title says this is the only shampoo out there. It’s amazing. Cleans, hydrates and is good for the environment.

Might just be my new favourite shampoo

Tried this on the recommendation of staff at Twenty Seven. I tend to have a sensitive scalp and wanted a shampoo that would not irritate my scalp while also not drying out my hair. After the first use I was hooked. No scalp irritation. Hair was soft and shiny. And the smell was gorgeous. The spa-like scent filled the shower area and I didn't want to leave! Love the fact it has no sulphites or parabens and that it is cruelty free too. Note: Because of the lack of a lot of harsh ingredients, it does not produce a lot of suds compared to some other shampoos. But that doesn't mean it isn't cleaning your hair, because it is. The low suds is a good thing for your hair. Beautiful product. I doubt I will switch to other more "brand name" salon shampoos and definitely not going back to drug store products.
