The Wet Look
The wet-looking strands in a variety of different iterations has become one of the most prevalent hair trends on the runways right now, spotted at shows across all four major Fashion Week cities. Celebrity hairstylist and founder of Act + Acre (a Twentyseven fave!) Helen Reavey weighs in on this trend:
"The wet look can make people feel like they've dressed up and almost transformed into an elevated persona."
For fine hair types, Reavey suggests using just a hair mask, smoothing it through hair and then combing it into place as desired.
For those with medium texture, her technique is to combine a hair mask with gel for more longevity and hold.
As for thick, curly textured hair, she suggests combining a mousse with gel, and then adding a shine wax or cream.

Icy Knot Buns
Slicked-back "icy knot" buns were seen on the runway at LaQuan Smith's fashion show. Not a single stray hair in sight, and a clean knot bun in the back wrapping this hairstyle in a neat little glam but sophisticated bow.
