This tiny handmade bumblebee features all the details that make this little creature so beloved. Its Latin name is Bombus Vagans, or the half-black bumblebee, as its body is bisected just below the thorax into two distinctive yellow and black bands.

Care instructions:

All efforts are made while designing to ensure the longevity and durability of this artwork. It should be displayed away from direct sunlight to prevent colours from fading, and away from any moisture or direct heat. It can be cleaned with a light duster, or a hairdryer set on cold and at the lowest setting, held 18-24” away.

This bee is made entirely by hand: cotton has been used for the armature, painted crepe paper and yarn for the fuzzy body, the legs and antennae are made with fine gauge paper covered wire, and the wings are made with acetate.

The legs and antennae have been painted by hand with the finest artist grade acrylic paint.

Please note: this is an entirely handmade item, made with natural materials. Due to this, minor imperfections may be visible in the display plaque (small nicks, knots in the wood etc). All efforts have been made to ensure that these blemishes do not distract from the beauty of the finished composition.
